The Baked Potato, the jazz room a Wrecking Crew keyboard player opened
1970
Studio City, Los Angeles, California
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
Don Randi spent the 1960s as one of the Los Angeles session players later called the Wrecking Crew, then opened a small room on Cahuenga Boulevard in 1970 and installed his own band as the house act. The club seats about a hundred people and the menu is built around large stuffed baked potatoes. It is the oldest jazz room still operating in the city.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
