Sixteen bracero farm workers killed in a 1959 bus crash are buried in one row here

On 8 July 1959 a bus carrying Mexican labourers from a hiring office in Mesa to fields near Tolleson ran off the road in Phoenix, struck a tree and caught fire. Sixteen men died and more than thirty were injured. They were buried together in this cemetery under a stone that lists every name and the date of the crash.
