Robert Johnson's three graves
1938
Greenwood, Mississippi
Joe Mazzola · CC BY-SA 2.0 · Wikimedia Commons
He recorded twenty-nine songs in two sessions, died at twenty-seven near Greenwood, probably poisoned by a jealous husband, and was buried without a marker. Three churches now claim the grave and all three have stones. The story that he sold his soul at a crossroads was attached to him afterwards, largely borrowed from another musician, and has proved impossible to dislodge.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
