Love Has Won and the mummified Mother God
Crestone, Saguache County, Colorado
![]()
Followers of Amy Carlson, who called herself Mother God, were found in April 2021 keeping her mummified body in a makeshift shrine in the mission house, wrapped in a sleeping bag and Christmas lights with glitter on her face. She had died in California, of a decline a coroner attributed to alcohol, anorexia and long-term dosing with colloidal silver, and had been driven back to Colorado. Seven people were charged with abuse of a corpse, the case ended in plea deals, and a documentary followed. The San Luis Valley has drawn groups expecting the end of the world for decades.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
