CIA Headquarters, Langley, Virginia

The CIA moved into its wooded campus at Langley in 1961 so the agency could stop working out of scattered wartime buildings downtown, and the name of the Virginia neighborhood became the metonym for the agency itself. The lobby's memorial wall carries a star for each officer killed in service, many with no name attached even now. In the courtyard stands Kryptos, a sculpture whose fourth encrypted panel has defeated every codebreaker, including the agency's own, since 1990.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
