Lajitas elects a beer-drinking goat

A border settlement on the Rio Grande made a goat called Clay Henry its mayor, and tourists fed him beer from the store across the road. The office has passed down three generations of the same line, with one incumbent castrated by a rival in 2001 in what the town treats as a genuine political scandal.
