Ivy Hill Cemetery and the plants that got it listed

Burials started here in 1837 when this was one family's private ground, and it was chartered as a community cemetery in 1856. The trolley suburb of Rosemont grew up around it after 1908. Left largely alone for a century and a half, its grounds now hold rare and protected plants and wildlife, and that is a large part of why it went on the National Register in 2025.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
