A chunk of Death Valley flint from California sat as a doorstop in coach Frank Howard's office until 1966, when it was mounted at the top of the stadium hill and became the most touched rock in college football: every Clemson player rubs it before running down into Death Valley while the crowd loses its mind. The entrance has been called the most exciting 25 seconds in the sport, mostly by people who are right.
