Honouliuli internment camp
1943
Oahu, Hawaii
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
The largest internment site in the islands, in a gulch prisoners called Jigoku-Dani, hell valley. Hawaii could not intern its Japanese population wholesale, they were over a third of it and the economy would have stopped, so it detained community leaders instead.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
