Arthur Hill sat as a regent of the university from 1901 until his death in 1909 and left two hundred thousand dollars specifically to build a hall for lectures and music. Albert Kahn and Associates designed it and it opened in 1913 with roughly 3,500 seats. It has been the university's main concert room ever since, and the acoustics are the reason touring orchestras still route through a college town.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
