Grumman builds the machine that landed on the moon

The lunar module, the only crewed vehicle ever built to fly in vacuum alone, spidery and wrapped in gold foil, with no need ever to be aerodynamic, was designed and built here. Every one that flew worked. When Apollo 13 failed, the thing that kept three men alive was the lander Grumman had made, used as a lifeboat it was never meant to be.
