Garfield shot at the railway station
July 2, 1881
Sixth and B Streets, Washington
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Shot by a rejected office-seeker and killed over eleven weeks by his doctors, who probed the wound with unwashed fingers. Alexander Graham Bell built a metal detector to find the bullet. The bed's springs defeated it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
