Fulton Road Bridge: the implosion over the zoo that half worked

The 1932 bridge carried Fulton Road across 1,560 feet of open spandrel concrete arch, about 110 feet above Big Creek, two working railroads and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. That made taking it down a problem. Crews closed the deck in October 2006 and set it to come down in one shot on the morning of 28 April 2007, but a detonation cable failed and only about a quarter of it fell. The rest was dropped three days later, and a replacement built to echo the old arches opened in 2010.
