French helicopters set up shop at Grand Prairie
1968
Grand Prairie Municipal Airport, Grand Prairie, Texas
LTV built a hangar at the city airport in 1968 so its Vought Helicopter arm could sell French Aerospatiale machines to American buyers. The French bought the operation out six years later and ran it under their own name, and the sign has since read Aerospatiale, American Eurocopter and Airbus Helicopters. The company's United States headquarters, parts depot and pilot training are still on that field.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
