1881
San Bernardino County, California

A silver camp of 1,200 that emptied when the price collapsed in 1896. Walter Knott, who had worked there as a young man and later founded Knott's Berry Farm, bought the ruin in 1951 and rebuilt it as a tourist ghost town.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
