Wylie Walleye Drop
Downtown Port Clinton, Madison Street, Port Clinton, OH
Port Clinton rings in the New Year by lowering a 20 foot, 600 pound fiberglass walleye from a crane in downtown Port Clinton at midnight, a nod to the town's self declared status as the Walleye Capital of the World. The tradition dates to the mid-1990s and includes a kids' Minnow Drop and fireworks. It draws visitors from across the region and statewide media coverage.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
