Before dawn on Thanksgiving Day, Indigenous people and allies board boats at Pier 33 for a sunrise ceremony on Alcatraz Island honoring the 1969 occupation and Indigenous resistance more broadly. The International Indian Treaty Council has organized the gathering since 1975.
