Oak Cliff Mardi Gras Parade
Davis Street, Bishop Arts District, Dallas, TX
Bishop Arts District activist Amy Wallace Cowan started this neighborhood Mardi Gras parade in 2009 to bring foot traffic to Oak Cliff's small businesses. Krewes, dance teams and floats move down Davis Street on the Sunday before Fat Tuesday, throwing beads to a crowd that now tops 10,000. It has grown into the largest Mardi Gras celebration in North Texas, organised by the neighborhood group Go Oak Cliff.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
