Bay Ridge's Norwegian-American community marches down Third and Fifth Avenues on the Sunday closest to Norway's Constitution Day, with marching bands, folk costumes, and Nordic flags. Held since the 1950s, it recalls the neighborhood's era as one of the largest Norwegian settlements outside Scandinavia.
