The University of Pittsburgh opens its 31 Nationality Rooms inside the Cathedral of Learning free to the public each December, decorated for the holidays with cultural performances and demonstrations. The open house has run annually since the 1990s on the first Sunday of the month. It draws visitors from across the city.
