Cuero Turkeyfest
Downtown Cuero, Cuero, TX
Cuero calls itself the Turkey Capital of the World and celebrates each October with a parade, a cook-off, and the Great Gobbler Gallop foot race led by its mascot turkey, Ruby Begonia. The festival has run since the 1970s, tracing back to the town's early 1900s turkey driving trade. Live country and Texas music headline the weekend at the fairgrounds and downtown stages.
