Congo Square Rhythms Festival
Congo Square, Armstrong Park, New Orleans, LA
The Congo Square Rhythms Festival is a free weekend of Afro diasporic music and dance held at Congo Square, the historic site where enslaved Africans gathered on Sundays in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is produced by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, the same organization behind Jazz Fest. The festival features brass bands, funk and traditional West African performers alongside a craft market.
