Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade & Firecracker Ceremony
Mott Street & Canal Street, New York, NY
Manhattan's Chinatown welcomes the lunar new year with a firecracker ceremony and lion dances in Sara D. Roosevelt Park, followed weeks later by a full parade of floats and performers from Mott and Canal Streets to the Manhattan Bridge. Organized since the late 1990s by Chinatown community groups, it remains one of the city's largest Asian cultural celebrations.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
