A bluegrass festival held each June at Bill Monroe's Music Park in Bean Blossom, founded by the genre's creator in 1967 on the grounds he managed since 1951. It grew into the largest bluegrass festival in the country by the 1980s and still draws touring acts and campers from across the country. The park also houses Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Hall of Fame.
