The Ponce massacre

Police opened fire on a Nationalist Party march on Palm Sunday, killing nineteen and wounding around two hundred. Most of the dead were shot in the back. A commission led by the head of the American Civil Liberties Union found the police responsible and the governor's permit revocation unlawful. Nobody was convicted.
