The O.J. Simpson trial
Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Los Angeles, California
The criminal trial ran here through most of 1995, on the ninth floor of what was then the Criminal Courts Building and is now named for Clara Shortridge Foltz, the first woman admitted to the California bar. The glove demonstration happened in this room in June, when Simpson was asked to pull on the pair found at the scene and struggled with them in front of the jury. He was acquitted on 3 October to one of the largest live television audiences in American history.
