A middle school boys’ game was going full speed in the Spartans’ gym when an older woman in a white coat decided the shortest way to her seat ran straight through it. She crossed the whole width of the floor with her purse on her arm while a kid dribbled hard around her, stopped to point the referee toward the bleachers she was heading for, and carried on. Nobody blew a whistle. Someone in the stands filmed it and put it on TikTok with the line Granny has places to be, and that is the version that went everywhere in late March 2025. The gym sits on Valley Station Road in the south end of Louisville, hunter green and canary yellow, WELCOME TO SPARTAN COUNTRY painted across the wall behind the hoop.
