The apple on the lamppost

An ornate lamppost on the grass between the Academic Commons parking garage and the Rawlings School of Divinity, on Liberty University's campus in Lynchburg. Somebody threw an apple at it from across the lawn, and the apple came down onto the finial at the top and stayed there. The clip travelled a long way and started a run of imitations at the same post that worked through pears, potatoes and pickles. No copy in circulation carries a date and every traceable version is a repost, so when the throw actually happened is not known.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
