Terio at Popeyes
Popeyes, Mill Road, Irvington, New Jersey
Still from the original video
The Popeyes on Mill Road in Irvington, next door to Newark. In August 2013 a man filming inside turned the camera on a nine year old standing by the drinks machine, asked him to say ooh, and got a flat sideways look back instead. The Vine passed nineteen million loops. Everyone called the boy Terio because the people holding the camera thought he looked like another child who was famous that year, and the wrong name stayed on him for most of a decade. He is Dieunerst Collin. He grew up, played for East Orange, and won a New Jersey state football championship in 2021.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
