A high-desert railroad town that has stood in for the whole American West on film for seventy years, the ranch in Giant, the motel in No Country for Old Men, the oil country of There Will Be Blood. Something about the light and the flatness draws directors, the same light that draws the art world. The mysterious Marfa Lights on the horizon draw everyone else.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
