The rap battles the whole film builds toward were staged in the basement venue called the Shelter, under Saint Andrew's Hall, the actual Detroit room where a young Eminem had battled for real. The final 'here we go' is on that low stage. Both rooms still put on shows, and the basement still smells the same.
