The U.S. Oyster Festival brings the U.S. National Oyster Shucking Championship and a professional oyster cook-off to the St. Mary's County Fairgrounds every October. Winners of the shucking contest go on to represent the country at the world championship. The 2026 festival is the 57th annual.
