Old Town Tomball closes to traffic each spring for a three day German heritage festival with four live music stages, more than 150 vendors and contests like the stein hoist and chicken dance. It has grown into one of the largest German heritage festivals in Texas since it began in the 1980s. Local German American families and Houston day trippers both treat it as the season opener.
