Spirit & Place has convened artists, scholars, and community groups across Indianapolis venues every November since the late 1990s, built around a rotating civic theme each year. Dozens of independently organized events, from panel discussions to performances, run over ten days citywide. It grew out of Indiana University Indianapolis's Polis Center.
