The South Boston Allied War Veterans Council has marched this parade through South Boston every March since 1901, pairing Evacuation Day with Saint Patrick's Day. It is one of the largest and oldest Irish heritage parades in the country and regularly draws crowds in the hundreds of thousands. The route winds through South Boston's main streets rain or shine.
