Border collies and their handlers work flocks of sheep across the open, unfenced terrain of the 2002 Olympic cross country venue at Soldier Hollow. Founded in 2003, the trial draws competitors from about 19 countries and more than 10,000 spectators, alongside sheep shearing and dog agility demonstrations. It is held every Memorial Day weekend.
