Versailles has held Poultry Days since 1952, a community festival built around what organizers call the World's Largest Chicken Barbecue, serving tens of thousands of chicken dinners over the second full weekend of June. The festival also includes a parade, carnival rides, and a Miss Chick pageant. It is a major fundraiser for a town of under 3,000 people.
