Downtown Pensacola's Grand Mardi Gras Parade rolls down Palafox Street on the Saturday before Fat Tuesday, the capstone of a season-long celebration with roots back to 1874. Krewes throw beads and trinkets from decorated floats through the historic downtown corridor. The modern parade has run every year since Pensacola Mardi Gras Inc. revived the tradition in 2001.
