The Ocean Beach Kite Festival fills Robb Athletic Field with homemade and store bought kites for a free afternoon of flying, contests, and giveaways aimed at kids. Run by the Ocean Beach Kiwanis Club, it bills itself as the oldest continuously running children's kite festival in the country, dating to 1948. Prizes go to the most creative and highest flying kites of the day.
