Decorah's Norwegian heritage takes over downtown for a weekend of folk dancing, Viking battle re-enactments, and aebleskiver breakfasts, anchored by the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum. It has run since the late 1960s and is one of the upper Midwest's larger Scandinavian heritage festivals.
