Muertos de la Risa is one of Chicago's oldest Dia de los Muertos celebrations, organized by ElevArte Community Studio with SGA Youth and Family Services in the Pilsen neighborhood. The evening combines face painting and Aztec dance at Dvorak Park with a community procession featuring large puppets and hand pushed ofrenda carts. Editions have been documented since the late 1970s.
