A week-long homecoming festival in Mitchell built around the wild persimmons that ripen across the surrounding hills each fall, running since 1947. The schedule fills downtown and nearby Spring Mill State Park with nightly music, a carnival, car shows, and a persimmon pudding contest. A parade through town closes out the week.
