San Diego's Martin Luther King Jr. Parade travels down Harbor Drive from downtown toward Seaport Village each January, with marching bands, community groups, and a companion 5K run. Organized in part by the San Diego alumni chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, the parade has run for over four decades on MLK weekend. A separate neighborhood parade also runs the same weekend in Southeast San Diego's Valencia Park.
