One of the country's oldest surfcasting tournaments, running the length of Long Beach Island's beaches from late August through November for striped bass, bluefish, fluke, and more. First held in 1954, it is organized by the LBI Surf Fishing Classic Committee and the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce.

A two day kite festival on the beaches of Ship Bottom, including an evening Night Fly session, run for the Long Beach Island Chamber of Commerce.
DQ Events runs a quarter-mile swim, 10.75-mile bike, and 3-mile run each September at Bayview Park on Long Beach Island, with separate duathlon and aquabike divisions for athletes who skip the swim or bike leg.
