Kingwood's Town Center Park hosts an annual Mardi Gras festival with a parade, a gumbo cook-off, and king cake, timed to a Sunday ahead of Fat Tuesday. The event has run for more than thirty years as a neighborhood tradition in this corner of Houston. (2027 date approximate, following its usual pre-Mardi Gras Sunday pattern; not yet posted.)
