The City of Houston's Thanksgiving morning parade steps off downtown with floats, marching bands and giant balloons along a twenty block route. It has run since 1949, when Santa first rode into town from Union Station, making it one of the nation's oldest Thanksgiving parades. The Mayor's Office of Special Events organizes it today, presented by H-E-B.
