Houston's Martin Luther King Day parade began as two rival marches decades ago and unified in 2026 into a single MLK Unity Parade produced by the City of Houston, the Black Heritage Society, and the MLK Grande Parade Foundation. The parade steps off from City Hall and draws crowds in the hundreds of thousands through downtown Houston each January.
