Key West marks Ernest Hemingway's birthday each July with a week of literary readings, a marlin tournament, and the Hemingway Look-Alike Contest at Sloppy Joe's Bar, his old haunt. The look-alike contest alone has run for over four decades and draws bearded entrants from across the country. Events spread across Duval Street and the Hemingway Home & Museum.
