Great Taste of the Midwest is a lakeside craft beer festival at Olin Park featuring roughly 200 breweries pouring around 1,400 beers, drawing attendees from across the country. First held in 1988, it is the second longest running craft beer festival in North America and tickets typically sell out within minutes; homebrew clubs from across the Midwest run it as a volunteer nonprofit. It is held on the second Saturday of August each year. The 2026 edition took place August 8; the 2027 date is estimated from that pattern.
