Sun Prairie spends a week each winter marking the cold with outdoor activities across the city, closing with the Groundhog Day Prognostication at sunrise in Cannery Square. Jimmy the Groundhog has delivered the city's official winter forecast there for more than seventy years. Crowds gather before dawn on February 2nd regardless of the weather.
